For mountain-loving cyclists, Switzerland is an attractive proposition.

It boasts superb roads and some of the most beautiful landscapes in Europe. The country is home to some of the highest mountains in the Alps. Names such as the Gotthard Pass, Umbrail Pass and Col du Sanetsch are well-known to road cycling connoisseurs.

While the country feels a little more mysterious to cyclists than France, Spain and Italy, its Alpine riding is every bit as spectacular. Pro cyclists like Cancellara and the annual Tour de Suisse are also doing a good job of getting Switzerland etched into our collective cycling memory!

Our content on Switzerland is lighter than we’d like, but we think you’ll enjoy our guide to St Moritz and the Engadin Valley, and our guide to Verbier, which comes with five inspiring mountain climbs to try! Also this article shares some of Switzerland’s best cycling routes and climbs and this article takes you behind the scenes of the annual Swiss gran fondo, the Tour des Stations.

We hope more content on Switzerland’s fantastic cycling opportunities will follow in the near future.
