Cycling culture in Canada
Canada is home to some of the world’s most legendary downhill trails. Both Whistler and Canmore attract thousands of mountain bikers each year!
The country is also home to a seemingly never-ending network of highways. Away from the cities, these highways tend to be relatively quiet and are good options for adventurous cyclists looking to get out into the epic natural landscapes.
In recent years, Canada’s urban spaces have also seen big improvements to their cycling infrastructure.
Many big major cities, including Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary are now all home to a large network of dedicated cycle paths and shared cycling facilities.
You will also find many bike shops and bike hire facilities in the city centres. If you end up in any of these Canadian cities, you are likely to encounter many local cyclists making the most of these cycling facilities.
