Route notes: west suburbs of Québec City

1. Plains of Abraham to Saint-Augustin 0 to 22 km

This part starts flat but soon becomes hilly, after the St-Louis street, as you’ll slowly leave the residential zone to enter the rural one.

3. Cap Rouge to Plains of Abraham 50 to 72 km

You will now come back to a more residential zone, where traffic will be a little heavier, but roads are equipped with great shoulders.

You will climb back what you descend and the Cap-Rouge’s hill is particularly spicy for the legs. But smile, because you will then easily ride on the Champlain cycle path, next to the St-Lawrence’s river… before going up again, climbing the renowned Gilmour hill.

Café stops

  • Quai 1635 is a really great restaurant, located just down the Cap Rouge’s hill. The view of the water from here is really impressive, a real haven of peace.
  • Other than that, you will pass by a gas station with food supplies at kilometre 49.
