Cyclist Erik Duncan in helmet and sunglasses on a sunny day in Norway

Based in Kristiansand, Norway, Erik Duncan has spent the past two decades on two wheels, devoting holidays and warm-weather weekends to cycling. Each summer, he undertakes a two-week tour across Central Europe, mixing classics with new discoveries, from the Romantic Road to the Mosel Bike Route. In spring and autumn, he gravitates to Girona and other Spanish cycling hotspots.

From mid-May to mid-September, he explores Kristiansand’s coast-and-low-mountain playground, riding both renowned and hidden routes within easy reach of the city centre. Most of his routes range from 68 to 118 kilometres, manageable for moderately trained riders. Wider Agder adds detours to the famous “white coastal towns” and quiet inland lakes.
